Pico Lazer
Technology

At Luxe Laser Studio we take Tattoo Removal seriously. That is why we picked Pico Technology for our lasers. It is fast, safe and non-invasive. Pico technology is regarded as one of the most advanced laser treatments currently on the market because of the speed of the laser light used for Tattoo Removal.

Pico lasers are the gold standard and pulse at 1,000 times the speed of Q-Switched lasers (another type of laser tattoo removal). This means that Pico lasers can treat and clear tattoos faster and more completely than Q-Switch. Pico lasers can treat challenging tattoos with multiple colors and does not heat the skin and surrounding tissue, it basically shatters the tattoo particles.

The particles are eliminated through the bodyโ€™s natural processes resulting in a lightening of the tattoo ink. Although Pico lasers pulses of energy are highly concentrated, the laserโ€™s effect is gentle to the outer layer of the skin. Pico treatments do not burn the skin, making it much safer โ€“ patients are treated with topical numbing agents to decrease the discomfort of the treatment.

What You
Need to Know

Picosecond lasers are effective at removing a wide range of tattoo colors, including black, blue, green, brown, orange and red. However, some colours such as yellow and white may be more challenging to remove. Yellow and white and dark blue and green do lift, but require many more sessions to lighten significantly. The closer the colour is to black, the better the results that can be achieved.

[   What does laser tattoo removal feel like? Is it painful?   ]

For most people, the feeling of laser tattoo removal has been compared to what it feels like when getting a tattoo or a snap against the skin. We use a cooling device during the entire treatment and suggest patients apply a numbing cream (e.g. Emla) to help minimize any discomfort. The combination of the cooling device and numbing cream work great and also the treatment is very fast!

[   How will my skin look after the laser treatment?   ]

Following your treatment there will be an immediate slight whitening or โ€œfrostingโ€ of the tattoo area, however, that will subside immediately after the treatment is complete. You may also experience mild swelling, redness, and small blistering, all of which are normal.

[   Does Laser Tattoo removal leave scars?   ]

Picosecond Laser tattoo removal has been clinically proven to remove tattoos without causing scarring. That being said, good aftercare is extremely important. At Luxe Laser Studio, we provide you with detailed aftercare instructions to promote your comfort and healing minimise the risk of scarring and help you to nurture pure skin.

[   How Many Treatments Does It Take?   ]

Depending on the depth, intensity, and colors of your tattoo it can take about 6 treatments 8 weeks apart. More treatment sessions may be necessary on challenging tattoos. Our talented team will be able to give you a good idea of how many sessions you will need and how far apart the treatments should be.

[   How Much Downtime Will I Have? Tattoo Removal Aftercare Instructions   ]

Everyone heals at a different rate, but the downtime is minimal. You can go about your daily routine immediately, but you will want to keep your treated tattoo out of the sun, bathtub, swimming pool, or lakes until the skin heals. Avoid contact sports or other activities that could injure the area. Following the aftercare instructions closely will help make sure your healing time is minimal.

[   How often will I need treatments?   ]

While it typically takes 8 weeks for the body to absorb the ink particles, every patient and tattoo responds differently. Following the recommended post-treatment protocol will likely improve the results and reduce the chance of small adverse events.

[   How many sessions will I require?   ]

Location of the tattoo, colour, depth of ink and quality of ink are some of the factors that influence the cost and timeline required to remove a tattoo. Amateur tattoos can normally be removed after 2 or 3 sessions while professional tattoos will require more. Sessions are spaced 6โ€“8 weeks apart.

If you have any concerns about pre- or post-care for laser tattoo removal, be sure to talk to your technician.

Clean the treated area daily, with mild soap (e.g. Dove) allowing water or shower to run over the treated area and then pat the area dry.

Avoid using loofah sponges of any kind as you want to avoid exfoliating action on the area in the first week.

Apply a nice layer of ointment (included in your treatment) to the treatment area morning and evening in the first 10 days. Keep the area moist and let any scabbing fall off on its own.

Apply a clean pad over the treated area until its healed.

If crusting occurs, do not shave or pick the treated area, simply apply more ointment.

No rubbing or scratching the treated area.

Discomfort may be relieved by ice packs or Acetaminophen.

No swimming or using hot tubs or whirlpools within the first 10 days until the treated area heals.

Small blistering is normal.

Avoid sun exposure. When treatment area might be exposed to the sun after sloughing has occurred, use a 50+ SPF sunblock with zinc oxide or titanium and reapply every 2 hours. Do not use chemical-based sunblock.

Before
After

In the mirror, a radiant stranger blinks back. No airbrushing here, just the magic of a meticulous facial. Pores, once craters, are now smooth plains. A stubborn wrinkle, a battlefield long fought, has finally surrendered. Glowing skin, plump and dewy, reflects the soft candlelight. Tonight, it’s not just the makeup that shimmers – it’s the quiet confidence of a face reborn.
